Snowflake obsidian semi precious, polished tumblestone in opaque black speckled with white and grey feldspar/cristobalite inclusions, hence the name. Obsidian is a volcanic glass formed when lava/magma solidifies rapidly . The name 'obsidian' refers to its glassy texture. Snowflake obsidian is considered to be the equivalent of the Chinese yin/yang symbol, representing the unity of opposing forces.
